Session 6
Here Rob Lewis speaks on symmetry in binocularity and why some people choose asymmetric ways of using their binocular system and how we can assist them in getting back to symmetry, should they choose to do so.
Individual development of the visual process – what might we see in the patient’s behavior that will help us to understand how they have been using their visual skill up to now?
Why might a patient choose strabismic behaviour to perform in their world?
Strabismic behaviour in a patient does not always show a turned eye, and the patient is always binocular. The patient with strabismic behaviour benefits from being offered a different way to see.
Are there any special tests to use when observing strabismic behaviour?
Prescribing plus – the right amount of plus to enable the patient to be able to reach, and to make change.
Research by Richard Breunech to aid understanding of eye movements, particularly of the medial recti.
Checking macula integrity in amblyopic patients.
What about ARC?
