Karl Marsden

From his “wiki”Carl D. Marsden, an optometrist who practiced in Rocky Ford, Colorado, originated the Marsden ball. He developed the exercises in the late 1940s when visual therapy was in its infancy. His desire was to create a way to practice ocular pursuits both at home and in the office. Hence, the Marsden ball, which is basically any rubber ball suspended in space by a string.
